2nd Angkor Wat International Film Festival

Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf and Spa Resort, Siem Reap Feb 1-3 2013

Sofitel are hosting the second Angkor Wat International Film Festival. Hot on the heels of the success of last year’s inaugural festival, it is returning this year with an emphasis on Cambodian youth. The three-day screening offers over 30 movies and documentaries revolving around a central theme of cultural conservation and environmental preservation. The programme includes submissions filmed and /or produced in Cambodia as well as entries from France, Bhutan, New Zealand and the United States.

The opening ceremony will take place in the hotel ballroom at 7pm on Friday the 1st of February, featuring Peace Through Music as its centre-piece. There are two screening venues where the public can watch films such as Small Voices, Bonsai People and Le Petit Nuage, among other tiles.  Sunday morning will promote the work of the students from the Tell Your Own Story project. This project is a global initiative to equip students and communities with the tools and knowledge to create their own videos, thus giving them a voice in global film-making.

The festival is an original opportunity for independent film-makers and producers to showcase their work to a diverse and open-minded audience.
