Artists workshop at Phnom Penh Community College
Budding artists can brush up on their skills during a double-drawing workshop on August 24th. Led by the talented France Damon, the Phnom Penh Community College hosted workshops will explore still life and figure drawing.
The morning session at Phnom Penh Community College will explore the genre of still life, taking in its history and a demonstration of the formal elements of design as it applies to still life. Participants will also be asked to draw their own pictures from two set-ups, one with a limited palate of Khmer artifacts and one with a full palate of local fruit.
The afternoon session will take a look at the genre of Figure Drawing. This will explore the tradition of drawing and painting and a technical demonstration of the formal elements of how to draw the human figure. Participants will then create their own drawing with a live model.
The morning workshop takes place between 9am and 12.30pm and the afternoon one from 1.30pm to 5pm. Each workshop, which takes place at The Capacity Specialists, corner of St 63 and 294, costs $35, including all materials. It is $60 for both workshops, or bring a friend and pay $50 each for a full day.
France Damon has been an artist, studio art and art history teacher and creative arts curriculum developer for many years across the globe, including San Francisco, San Jose, Cannes and Munich.
