Bach, Beethoven and Brahms at Meta House
The music of The Three Bs – Bach, Beethoven and Brahms – will be celebrated at a special piano recital at Meta House later this month. ARTplus Foundation presents the concert, which will see Gerd Isselhardt take to the stage to bring to life the work of the three great musicians.
Isselhardt was born 1987 in Speyer, Germany and started playing piano at the age of eight. He went on to become a private pupil of Professor Siegbert Panzer in Ludwigshafen, Germany, where he took piano lessons from 2001. In 2003, he was a prizewinner at Jugend musiziert in Bundewettbewerb, the famous youth competition, and participated at the Chamber Music Course for the best young musicians in Weikersheim/ Germany.
He has also performed chamber music with soloists of the Palatinate State Philharmonic Orchestra, the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and the Dresdner Philharmonie. Since 1999, he has studied Instrumental-Music-Pedagogy at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory of Music in Mainz/Germany.
The programme will include Bach’s Praeludium and Fuga No 20 a-minor, Beethoven’s 32 Variations C minor, WoO. 80, Gerhard Fischer-Muenster’s Prelude anatolique and Sergei Prokofieff’s Etude Op2 No 4 C-minor.
The Three Bs recital takes place on Wednesday, Jul. 31, at 8pm, tickets cost $5, students $2.
