Cambodia’s Sofitel Phokeethra Hotels Impress
Sofitel hotels in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap are celebrating this month as they prepare to welcome a series of gourmet chefs through the door and receive a top award.
The Five Chefs Dinner series is preparing to impress Phnom Penh gourmets once again. Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra will host the second edition of the Five Chefs Dinner on Mar. 23.
Executive Chef Patrice Guibert will be joined by Joel Wilkinson of Raffles Hotel Le Royal, Frank Sampere of Open Wine, Amy Baard of Chinese House and Olivier Guillon of The Plantation.
Each chef will present their own course on a menu featuring dishes such as black cod with goat cheese and walnut crust served with fresh spinach and smoked lard sauce by Chef Patrice, or lobster and crab squid ink tortellini served with squid and quinoa salsa, burnt tomato, octopus confit and lobster bisque by Chef Baard.
The series of events visits the respective kitchens of each chef in turn, with Raffles Hotel Le Royal hosting the dinner last month. Described as “a true adventure for gourmets”, the innovative concept combines the unique culinary talents of these chefs.
“Phnom Penh is increasingly becoming renowned as a culinary destination so it’s a fantastic opportunity to work alongside some great talent and celebrate this,” says Chef Patrice.
The Five Chef’s Dinner will be held in Do Forni Restaurant at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra, Mar. 23, 6pm, $95.
The announcement of the Phnom Penh hotel’s gourmet feast comes at the same time its sister property in Siem Reap, Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf and Spa Resort, is named Cambodia’s private luxury hotel of the year.
It stole the title at this year’s Luxury Travel Guide Awards, fighting off fierce competition from a series of hotels from across Asia and Australia.
