DJ Zinc Makes Cambodian Debut

A blast from the past will be raising the roof when DJ Zinc lands in Phnom Penh to share his latest sounds for what promises to be a night of heavy beats.

The UK drum ‘n’ bass pioneer made a name for himself back in the 90s when he unleashed his heavy bass beats on the world. Creating top tunes, such as 1995 hip hop/ jungle hit, Super Sharp Shooter, and classic 138 Trek, more recently he has produced Wile Out, featuring Ms. Dynamite.

In 2008, DJ Zinc, whose real name is Benjamin Pettit, took a new turn and started producing a fusion of deep house, funky house and fidget – he went on to coin this bass-heavy house as crack house. He has released a string of house tracks on Rinse FM’s label.

Now Zinc is gearing up to make his Cambodian debut with what promises to be an entrancing set at Code Red, near Koh Pich bridge, on Friday, May 23 from 10pm. The event is supported by UB Radio and Black Star Tattoo Studio and a STOLI open bar runs from 10pm to 11pm.

Tickets are $6 in advance or $8 on the door. Reservations can be made by phoning 017 800 642.
