Be A Hero
A campaign that called on communities to Be A Hero and help get Cambodian children into education has been hailed a success.
Organised by NGO Pour un Sourire d’Enfant (PSE) and backed by Maruhan Japan Bank, the six-month Be A Hero campaign aimed to encourage, inspire and raise awareness of those who work to help the development of Cambodia. This included hosting a series of activities, including sporting events, flash mobs, concerts and fund-raising efforts to fund education for under-privileged youngsters.
Playing an integral part in the campaign was performing artist Pou Khlaing, who volunteered to be the campaign’s Goodwill Ambassador by taking the lead in raising funds to pay for 12-month’s education for more than 500 children.
Pin Sarapich, PSE general manager, says, “I personally believe that if just one person was ready to help another one, then we could extinguish poverty in Cambodia. But we can’t achieve this alone.
“This campaign is a call to participate and help the next generation become the people who can and must lead the country towards modernity and development.”
