Khmer Classes on Tap at Phnom Penh Community College
Phnom Penh Community College offers expats an opportunity to learn basic Khmer language and culture through a five-week beginner programme starting in September.
The course, back by popular demand, is designed to equip students with basic Khmer words and phrases for everyday use. The workshops also add cultural teachings on important Cambodian customs.
Sessions cover topics such as numbers, greetings, directions, everyday nouns, and food and drink, as well as insights into Khmer relationships, body language, urban and rural life, and Buddhism. Classes will be led by a facilitator skilled in both English and Khmer, with more than 10 years’ experience teaching and a commitment to seeing foreign students thrive during their time in country.
The weekly sessions start Thursday, Sep. 11, from 6pm to 8pm, and run through mid-October. Cost is $100 for all sessions. Classes are held at The Capacity Specialists Training Centre, 73, Street 115, Phnom Penh.
Phnom Penh Community College provides ongoing opportunities for expats and Cambodians to learn new skills or meet people with similar interests. Classes are ongoing and cover a variety of recreational and special interest subjects.
