New Japanese Restaurant Hanami
In late March and early April, Japan blooms with cherry blossom trees under which people gather for outdoor parties called ‘hanami’. A new restaurant in Phnom Penh that takes its name from these gatherings offers daily lunch and dinner buffets for $9 and $18 respectively, with Japanese dishes such as sushi, oden, tempura and yakitori. A dessert buffet with tea, drinks and sweets runs for $5 in the afternoon. Hanami director Go Yoshida told AsiaLIFE that Hanami wants people to enjoy the quality of Japanese food. The restaurant also has instructional placemats to school sushi novices in the art of eating nigiri sushi.
