Phare Creative Studio celebrates its official launch on May 18th

Phare Performing Social Enterprise (PPSE) is celebrating the launch of Phare Creative Studio as a new social enterprise. The creative team will showcase their talents at the official opening, on May 18. The launch promises a cocktail party including fun creative activities for guests, including caricature, live painting, lucky draw an exhibition and a screening of some of the studio’s work.

What began as a small animation and graphic design studio to inspire and provide a creative outlet for young Cambodians in Battambang, has developed and since 2016 and established itself as a modern and fully equipped creative studio. Phare Creative Studio works with a group of talented artists trained at the Visual and Applied Art School (VAAS). The studio provides local and international services in 2D animation, graphic design, illustration, video and sound recording.

Phare Creative Studio is an innovative social business pursuing three complimentary social missions: to provide gainful employment, personal and career development opportunities for young Cambodian creatives, to provide longterm support to the Visual & Applied Art School (VAAS) from Phare Ponleu Selpak Association, and to contribute to the rebirth of Cambodian modern art.

PharePonleuSelpak Association (PPSA) or “The Brightness of the Arts” is a non-profit Cambodian association improving the lives of children, young adults, and their families since 1994. With educational programs and social support, Phare Ponleu Selpak seeks to provide education, access to the arts, vocational training, and professional pathways for children and young adults. In 2013 PPSA created Phare Performing Social Enterprise (PPSE) with the aim of financial self-sufficiency. Phare Creative Studio, Phare The Cambodian Circus and Phare Productions International all come under the PSSE umbrella.
