Rahus hope to end Season on a high
The Phnom Penh Social Rugby Club “Rahus” will end their contact rugby season on Saturday June 17, by hosting the Singapore Cricket Club “Nomads” team in a men’s XVs game. They are encouraging everyone to support local rugby and get behind the guys as they aim to end the season on a high. The game, set to kick off at 11am, will be held at International School of Phnom Penh with the. Entrance is free with drinks and club merchandise on sale inside.
The men’s Rahus team rarely gets a chance to play XVs rugby and is teaming up with players from the the Garudas Rugby Club to form a united front, with which they hope to topple the visitors from Singapore. Both teams will celebrate after the game by watching the Lions Rugby vs NZ Maori game live from New Zealand at 2:30pm local time before heading off to a post game event at Samai Distillery.
Samai will be for open to the public from 7pm and the Rahus are supporting Samai in their crowdfunding campaign to break into the Singapore market. (more information on the crowdfunding campaign is available here https://pozible.com/project/samai-premium-rum )
The game on Saturday signals a break of the contact rugby season and a few players will be departing Phnom Penh thereafter, but the Rahus hope to send them off in style.
