A Taste of France 2016
The second annual Goût de France (A Taste of France) festival will take place in Cambodia on 21 March with a gourmet dinner involving ten restaurants in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap. As part of Francophone Week (Mar. 17-25) taking place in Cambodian Universities, the French Institute has organised a series of cultural activities, including movies, a lecture and two concerts. A special performance by Japanese singer Wasaburo Fukuda will celebrate the French language with a concert of French songs on Mar. 24 at the French Institute.
The first edition of Goût de France (A Taste of France) in March 2015, brought together over 1,300 restaurants and French Embassies across the world. This year six new restaurants are joining the event, including three in Siem Reap, dsiplaying growing interest in this celebration French cuisine. The French Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia is using this opportunity to organise a series of business events for its members and other business associations in Cambodia, culminating in an award ceremony for the “Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Challenge” initiated by the French business community in Cambodia on Mar. 26.
The awards ceremony will take place in the presence of H.E. Sok Chenda Sophea, Secretary General of the Centre for the Development of Cambodia, and H.E. Jean-Claude Poimboeuf, French Ambassador to Cambodia. The challenge involves 13 French companies based in Cambodia and aims at showcasing best practices in this field and encouraging the development of corporate social responsibility initiatives among other companies in Cambodia.
