Yesterday Once More – A Musical Seeking Donors

The driving forces behind Yesterday, Once More – a Cambodian Musical are looking for a “Super Backer” or two to make the project a fully funded success story.

Thanks to the generosity of supporters $2,256 USD has been raised by 37 backers, equalling 28% of $8,000 target. Should the goal of $8,000 be reached, Creative Partnerships Australia will double the money, creating a total of 16,000USD. Although 10-15% will go to cover Indie Go Go fees, bank fees, and packing and sending the fabulous rewards on offer, the rest will fund this important community arts project.

With just under a week to go, this is a key stage in the funding campaign. Much of the budget will be spent on staging equipment, which it is hoped will be set-up and installed in time to create a special venue for the third annual Kampot Readers & Writers Festival. KRWF brings together a diverse program of culture from across Cambodia and around the world. The equipment will then be put to use for developing Yesterday, Once More. This is Cambodian Space Project’s most ambitious work to date and a first of its kind in Cambodia contemporary theatre. It is hoped this project will help the Cambodian arts scene to continue expanding and diversifying.

Yesterday, Once More: is an intriguing story and a key work for CSP. Their aim is to create a musical based on the life and disappearance of Poev Vannary. Vannary’s songs, loves, hopes and dreams are reimagined in this theatrical testimony to the power of the human spirit to overcome adversity. it is a moving homage to a young singer’s life, and an entire generation lost in one of the most devastating chapters in human history.

There are many great rewards on offer, you can even book the CSP for a private concert, become the proud owner of music and artworks or even a very special collectible pressing of “Cambodia sings The Carpenters” 45rpm vinyl.
