Gérard Poulard – The Cheese Master is back at Scarlett!
From 9th – 24th May 2016, France’s official Cheese Ambassador to the world, Gérard Poulard, once again returns to Scarlett Wine Bar & Restaurant on the 37th floor of Pullman Bangkok Hotel G. Back by popular demand, the cheese master will present his 2016 Collection of Fromages de France, bringing with him 100 varieties of French farmed cheese from the best of France’s boutique producers — available at Scarlett only!
Since 1999, Gérard Poulard has become internationally renowned as the world’s expert in the enjoyment and presentation of the fine cheeses sought after by gourmet dining restaurants in over 22 countries around the world. In collaboration with his son Olivier, he has received an ever increasing list of prestigious awards for his knowledge regarding France’s most delectable exports, including The Order of Agricultural Merit, Le Cordon Bleu France, and the Prosper Montagné from Quality House.
For more than two decades, the Cheese Master has travelled throughout the French countryside discovering its varied history and culture concerning his favorite topic, cheese. In fact his knowledge about the farms of France is so extensive that sometimes he even knows the name of the goat or cow from which the milk has been drawn.
Behind the cheeseboard, Gérard Poulard impresses and arouses the desire of those who meet him, speaking about the unique flavors of various cheeses with passion and a fantastic level of knowledge. While a guest looks at the cheeseboard, he carefully asks about his cheese palate, ultimately selecting the tailor-perfect cheese for each guest.

Gérard Poulard will visit during 9th – 24th May to demonstrate his expertise in perfectly arranging the tastes and textures of a wide range of France’s numerous cheeses into various mouthwatering combinations with breads, cold cuts, wines, fruits and teas. He will present a plethora of excellent cheeses, such as Couronne Lochoise, Le compostelle, L’olivet foin, Taupinette Jousseaume, Rigotte de Condrieux and more.
Also presented will be a divine selection of goat cheeses from France. Although slightly less known, goat cheese makes up an exquisite variety of cheese that possess numerous health benefits, including being substantially lower in fat and calories. Goat cheese is also higher in protein and calcium, as well being a good brain food that boosts metabolism and has heart beneficial properties along with other nutrients.
