at Neilson Hays Library

An exhibition by Simona Ambrosini and Ingrid Van der Heyden opens at the Rotunda & Garden Gafe Galleries, Neilson Hays Library in Bangkok on Jun. 4.

INsight is a journey to understand the essence of the relation between Human and Nature. The two artists explore this common theme in two different ways.

Simona Ambrosini develops the theme of sight, as in a cathartic moment. Resin, metals and light are used as material filtre for this process.  Light and transparent, this material is raised and reflects a world between organic and inorganic. The cuts and the fretworks represent tangles and wounds of the soul and on Nature. The shelves of rubber provide an impermeable barrier to hold and protect the seeds of our thoughts from destructive forces of the universe.

Ingrid Van der Heyden takes a more intimate approach of exposure and vulnerability to juxtapose the suffering of Nature with the suffering of the flesh and soul.

The exhibition will run until Jun. 30, with an opening reception with a chance to meet the artists at 6pm on Jun. 8.
