Mondays Sunny Wongsansern, winner of the Outstanding Musician Award at Greeley Jazz Festival, USA, plays piano.

Tuesdays Swiss pianist and composer Mauro Monti stars in a duet with top trumpet player Rustem Galiullin.

Wednesdays Virtuoso US guitarist Dan Phillips and Thai sax player Pisut Prateepasana jam through the history of jazz.

Thursdays Sunny Wongsansern joins Russian Rustem Galiullin in a stylish piano-trumpet combo of jazz standards.

Saturdays Rydsma sings Latin and pieces from the Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald songbooks backed by the Mauro Monti Trio.

Sundays Band leader Sunny Wongsansern plays solo piano. He is joined by Dan Phillips (guitar) for the last two Suns of the month.

Feb 15 and Mar 22, The Jakob Dinesen Quartet
Jakob Dinesen is one of Denmark’s top sax players with eight albums and three Danish Grammys to his name. His latest release Dino features legendary ex-Bill Evans drummer Paul Motion. Jakob has also recorded with the likes of Eddie Gomez, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Nasheet Waits and Ben Street.

Jan 11, Feb 8 and Mar 8, The Dan Phillips Quartet
An exceptional musician, US native Dan Phillips is rated by as “one of the most original guitarists and composers currently on the jazz scene”  This veteran of the New York and Chicago jazz circuits has performed throughout North America, Asia and Europe with artists such as Gerald Wilson, John Stowell and Ben Street and is working on his fourth CD of original compositions. For these concerts he leads a group of Bangkok’s finest musicians through originals and unique arrangements of jazz standards.

Jan 18, Feb 1 and Mar 1, The Joseph Marchione Quartet
New York composer and sax player Joseph Marchione has played with luminaries like saxmen Von Freeman and Steve Coleman and ex-Frank Zappa drummer Jimmy Carl Black. He was also a founding member of the Austin Texas Creative Opportunity Orchestra. Joseph is joined by Dan Phillips (guitar), Tae Rogue (bass) and Hong Techatananan (drums). The band will mix Joseph’s own tunes with standards.

Jan 25, Feb 22 and Mar 15, The Jerry Byrd Quartet
Jerry Byrd, long-time guitarist for pianist-vocalist Freddy Cole, has played and recorded with greats such as Dizzy Gillespie, Roland Kirk, Jack McDuff and Sonny Stitt.
He brings his Gibson L5 inherited from long-standing friend George Benson to Niu’s in a swinging quartet and three sets of Straight Ahead Jazz.

Mar 29, Keith Nolan’s Love Gone Wrong
This high energy four piece plays blues groove with a classic line-up of bass, drums, guitar, keyboards and “crushed velvet vocals”. They push the boundaries of contemporary blues with a funky edge.
The band play originals and inspired versions of songs by their favourite artists, including Muddy Waters, George Benson and Stevie Wonder.
