Rockumentary 2005 - 2014 Rooftop Gallery by Farmani presents an exhibition of photographs by Chaicharn "Bank" Lertnimanoradee, “Rockumentary 2005 - 2014”Bank captures the riveting moments of some of Thailand’s most sought after musicians both on and off the stage. He is inspired by their music, “Music is my life and music keep me going, It’s been more than 9 years of my journey which became my passion.”

His photographs intuitively document how a band creates their music, giving viewers an intimate glimpse into the lives of Thailand’s greatest musicians.

This exhibition will feature 20 selected moments which capture not only Bank’s life behind the view finder but also the passion of those musicians who inspire his work.

Bank was born on 22 January 1984. He took up photography at the age of 22. His work encompasses documentary of music, street life, portrait and architecture. The works featured in this exhibition are mostly about music documentary capturing concerts of well-known names in the music industry big shots such as Pongsit Kampee, Thaitanium, Apartment Khunpa , Burin bunvisoot , Pae arak and Etc

“I like to listen to music because I get lots of inspiration from the lyrics. I’m into the bands whose lyrics motivate children and youngsters to better their lives. I noticed the absence of Thai rock photographers and that’s why I chose to portray the lives of these musicians through my lens.”

“The good thing is, I get to choose to shoot who I like. Most of these musicians make their own music, pursuing their passion and they do it purely for the love of music, not fame not wealth. I learned about their lives and personalities before any shoot. This helps me to capture the best in each of them.”

“Shooting musicians allows me to see through the difference lifestyle, personality of the musician, sound engineer, technician and fans. Therefore, I learnt how to approach, talk and work with different people from different background. I see both good and bad sides of people.”

Rooftop Gallery is located between Thonglor 14 and 16. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 12:00pm – 7:00pm by appointment only.
