Touch Rugby Competition Returns to Phuket
Ah, the smell of Deep Heat on aged muscles, cries of ‘sub’ from far flung corners, the endless spring of the gazelle youth as they bound into the sunset long after the final whistle. It can be only one thing; Touch Rugby is back at The ACG.
Jerry Seinfeld once said there is no such thing as fun for all the family, but this as far as we can gather is the closest thing to it.
Fresh air, the best grass on Phuket, kids running around like it’s the 1970’s and top notch burgers n dogs on the BBQ in the Boundary Bar (plus a cold one for mum and dad to nurse those hammy’s) – what’s not to like?
The third Touch Rugby Tournament to be held in Phuket will commence on 3 March. As with the previous two tournaments it will be held at the idyllic Alan Cooke Sports Ground in Thalang.
Sponsored by Outrigger Resorts/ Asia Pacific, there will be three rounds on March 3, 10 and 17 with the grand final to be held on March 31.
Games are played in the afternoon from 3:30pm onwards. The last Tournament attracted six teams and sponsors are confident that this Tournament will attract at least that many teams again.
Touch rugby is a family affair and the seven-a-side teams must have two female or junior players on the field at all times. Players of all ages and standards are welcome. Form your own team or put your name down to play for one of the teams already nominated.
