Tribeca Restobar presents The Dreamer art exhibition
Tribeca Restobar is proud to present Suthirak Rithraksa’s exhibition of contemporary paintings, entitled “The Dreamer”, in Bangkok from November 20, 2013 – December 20, 2013 with an opening reception on Wednesday, November 20 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
“I’m thrilled to have my work in shown at Tribeca Restobar,” said artist Suthirak. “I love to paint these images of nature as I see them in my dreams and it’s rewarding to be able to share them with people.”
Suthirak Rithraksa is a Bangkok-based Thai artist whose collection “The Dreamer” is comprised of acrylic paintings that capture the essence of nature as perceived in her dreams. Her use of color is remarkable and often whimsical.
“Public places like restaurants can become places of inspiration if we fill them with art work,” said art curator Yvonne Liang. I chose Suthirak’s work for Tribeca Restobar because it evokes a sense of beauty and wonderment, and I believe it resonates with Tribeca’s New York roots. The images of trees and birds sitting on branches is reminiscent of Central Park in the autumn when a myriad of colorful leaves cover the ground.”
“When I paint I feel quiet and lost within myself. It’s like a meditation where I can see and feel what is really inside me. I see colors in my head and I express them with my brushes. I like to challenge myself with each stroke,” says Suthirak. “I love the skies, the trees, their branches, and the moon and the sun. They make me feel the freedom of life. The colors of the sky represent my love and passion for each of my paintings. The branches of each tree are alive, complicated but beautiful. The sun and the moon are the beauty of nature and I see them with my own colors and style. They are all in my mind — they are places in my dreams that I want to visit.”
“The Dreamer” will run through December 20, 2013. Guests are welcome to attend the opening reception on Wednesday, December 20 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Tribeca Restobar is located on the Ground Floor of Nihonmura Mall, 85 Thonglor soi 13. Restaurant hours are daily from 9:00 am – 12:00 midnight.
