UNESCO Creates Mobile Game to Teach Flood Safety to Kids
In order to raise flood safety awareness, UNESCO has developed a game for mobile phones which teaches survival tips to children. The game, called Sai Fah: The Flood Fighter, was originally introduced in Thailand, where devastating floods rocked the country in 2011. Players must navigate a series of flood-related obstacles throughout the game in order to stay alive. Thanks to its success – Flood Fighter received over 22,000 downloads in its first month alone – the game has been translated into English and is now available to children in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines.
