Cakebread Cellars wine pairing dinner at Skewers
Celebrating 40 years of Iconic Napa Valley California wines was the event Thursday night April 18 at Skewer’s Restaurant in District 1. Bruce Cakebread, President, Winemaker, and COO of his family’s namesake winery made a rare visit to Vietnam, to share the history, vision, and passion of Cakebread Cellars wines. The attendees were treated to a skillful pairing of fine food prepared by Chef and Owner of Skewer’ Restaurant, Tristan Ngo and the latest vintages available here in Vietnam from host Michael Doyle of Fine Wines of the World, the exclusive importer and distributer.
Bruce Cakebread shared personal stories surrounding the wines his parents, Jack and Dolores Cakebread stated to craft back in 1973. Now some 40 years later, the family ‘s Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon are here in Vietnam, displaying the excellent terroir of the Napa Valley, that have resulted in sold- out vintages every year. Great food, great wine, great gathering of friends is the perfect pairing that drives Cakebread Cellars, and what made the dinner a memorable night for all!
