Clean Up Vietnam
“Making a stand takes a person from passive observer to active participant and it speeds the changes in history that are possible when we work together for a common good.” Peter Garrett, former Australian Environment Minister.
Clean Up Vietnam is an organization whose mission is to engage and inspire youth, families, businesses and communities to take action in changing the way we dispose of our waste and the way we look at our local community spaces.
On June 10th 2016, Mr Thanh (or Bob) will begin his journey on foot from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi to promote the enormous threat to our environment as well as conducting litter collections and working with local communities on the way.
It is expected to take 2 to 3 months to cover the 1700 km journey at about 40 kms per day. The trip is entirely self -funded and he would appreciate any donations of accommodation and food. He would also like some company along the way too. Please contact via the Leave no Footprint VN Facebook page to make a donation.
Motivated by concern for the environment and growing awareness of pollution issues in Vietnam he hopes to get as much support from the media and people along the way.
“I want to highlight the problems facing our planet and all the people and animals that inhabit it. We only have on planet and we seem to be destroying it. From dying fish to rubbish piling up on our beaches, from changing climate to air pollution. I hope my small contribution helps to bring people together to help fight these problems”.
