Dirty smog covers HCMC for up to five hours

A thick smog mixed with air pollutants from street traffic covered HCMC Thursday morning, lasting for about five hours, until noon. Many drivers could not see in traffic from all over town, including Tan Binh District and also from the Saigon Bridge to Binh Thanh District and District 2. A sign of overwhelming pollution in the city, Dang Van Dung, head of Southern Regional Hydro Meteorological Center, also said it was the result of radiation fog resulting from condensation in the air after a rainy night, and that when fog is also mixed with smoke and dust, it tends to last longer.
