First opening doors in 2015, GreenS is now two years into their journey bringing the fresh flavours of homemade salads delivered direct to your dinner tables. Inspired originally by the salad bars of New York, founders Chau Nguyen and Tu Anh were inspired to bring the wholesome goodness of freshly made salads to Saigon. So you can up your daily dose of greens with the convenience of a phone call.
Running a finger down the ‘grain’ menu, we find delicious dishes such as a couscous salad with zucchini and organic arugula. Another is a healthy mix of Mediterranean couscous, cherry tomatoes, yellow bell pepper, zucchini, arugula and roasted chicken, served with olive oil white wine mustard dressing, and with prices starting from just VND60,000. Tempting.
In the ‘greens’ menu, the recommended smoked salmon nicoise salad combines spinach, organic cherry tomatoes, cucumber, black olives, potatoes and smoked salmon with a mustard, mayo and dill dressing and served together with a slice of freshly baked dark rye bread sounds a winner. Prices start as low as VND55,000. Bargain.
If you prefer something with a kick, there’s a spicy beef salad made from Vietnamese watercress, white onions, organic cherry tomatoes and stir fried beef, topped with a spicy vinaigrette and accompanied with brown rice. Everyone’s a winner.
In the meat-free vegan section, there’s a choice of vegan broccoli and raisin salad with a homemade balsamic vinaigrette, or a vegan kale and apple salad accompanied by dark rye bread. If you fancy traditional, there’s veggie salad with a mix of carrots, roasted pumpkin, beans and broccoli and served with soy sauce. Prices here start at just VND59,000.
If none of the above appeals, why not create your own from a choice of 100 ingredients. 4 simple steps. First, decide on the size. A medium starts at VND45,000, the large from VND55,000. Next, choose your greens. There’s a choice of spinach, watercress, Romaine and green leaf lettuce. Select 2 and you’re good to go.
Now comes the fun part. Adding your choice of toppings. Included in the price are up to 5 options from a choice including: organic cherry tomatoes, sunflower seeds, zucchini, peppers, pumpkin sweet potato.
For an additional VND10,000 each, you can add some premium ingredients. Choose from sun dried tomatoes, black olives, asparagus, avocado, bacon roasted chicken, smoked salmon quinoa, or couscous. An extra VND30,000 gets you a choice of parmesan, feta or vegan cheese. Mix it up!
One thing that Chau and Tu Anh understand is the importance of knowing their ingredients are fresh, and come from a trusted source.80% of their ingredients are certified organic, with most sourced locally from trusted suppliers. Other ingredients, such as their olive oil, balsamic vinegar and parmesan cheese, are sourced from premium suppliers in the city.
Healthy and tasty.
