International School Saigon Pearl appoints new Principle

The International School Saigon Pearl (ISSP) has appointed Ms Lisa Johnson as the school’s new Campus Principal. A US citizen, Ms Johnson has more than 23 years of experience in the US and international schools, and is a recognized expert in the teaching of academically advanced children.

Ms Lisa Johnson is new to Vietnam, but not new to education having spent 8 years as a classroom teacher and 15 years as a school administrator. The experience and strengths that she brings to ISSP are in leading a culturally diverse school, increasing student achievement through data analysis and progress monitoring, and the integration of fine arts into the core curriculum. She is also an accomplished trainer at the state and national level.

She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Northeastern State University, a Master’s in School Administration from the University of Oklahoma, and she is presently in the dissertation phase of her Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Educational Leadership from Northcentral University. During her career in education, she was named OKC New Teacher of the Year, Building Teacher of the Year, and District Outstanding Principal of the Year for Parental Involvement, OKC Asian Community Award for Contribution, and GEAR UP Principal of the Year.

She is passionate about establishing and fostering a learning environment that is student-centered, collaborative, flexible, and will prepare all learners to attain academic and personal excellence.
