Local School Receives Makeover with the Support of New World Saigon Hotel and Local Community Spirit
Associates from New World Saigon Hotel were delighted to work with the local community of Ho Chi Minh City to offer the students of Tan Thach A School a head start in their upcoming academic term. A team of 23 associates from the hotel, including five from the hotel’s engineering department, as well as Executive Committee members, completed tasks such as preparing walls and painting.
Tan Thach A School will now start the new academic term with a repainted canteen area, three full sets of computers, 200 pieces of bed linen, 100 bath towels and 20 blankets. A further seven sets of computers are being prepared for delivery after the new term commences.
Over 300 students and family members attended a lunch organized by the hotel. Ha Thanh Tam, Deputy Chief of the Department of Education and Training, Chau Thanh district and Dinh Minh Nghia, Deputy Secretary of the People’s Committee of Tan Thach Commune were also on hand to show their appreciation for the day’s activities.
Sponsors of the event included Kim Dung Limited Company, Ngoc Suong Limited Company, Truong Tien Operation, Hewlett Packard, Kien Cuong Manufacturing Trading & Service Chemical LTD, LaVie, Nippon Golden Pig and Suntory Pepsico Vietnam.

New World Saigon Hotel supports Heart Reach Australia, an organization that provides safety, education and health to children in Ben Tre located in the Mekong Delta. Tan Thach A School receives support from Heart Reach Australia and pupils have previously visited the hotel for other activities.
New World Saigon Hotel has pledged support to Heart Reach Australia with monetary donations. Generous donations from New World Saigon Hotel’s guests in 2012 and 2013 will be used towards Heart Reach Australia’s initiative to purchase of a Medical Ambulance Boat to ensure those with medical emergencies can safely reach the local medical clinic where they can be treated.
Twenty children have also been welcomed to the hotel and introduced to skills that will be of value throughout their lives. This year’s events have included a swimming lesson at the Splash Pool, and a cookery lesson at The Terrace under the guidance of the executive chef and the executive sous chef.
