Sham 69, UK Punk Legends, to appear live on the Bonsai Cruise Boat in District 4.
Phil Worthington from V Trash Productions today confirmed Sham 69 a famous Punk Rock Band with 5 Top 20 hits in the late seventies is to appear for one night only at Bonsai Cruise in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 4 on Tuesday the 12th of June 2018. The event will be a collaboration between V Thrash Productions, Scientific Sound Saigon and the famous Sham 69 Punk Rock Band.
Phil paid special attention to Sham 69’s many years at the top of the music industry, their massive gig and festival reputation and experience as well as their impact on the global Punk Rock scene. ”Sham 69 are real legends in the global punk rock scene, they have amassed a huge global following and are one of the top punk rock bands of all time”, says Worthington. “They have been at the top of the game and it will be a pleasure to work with them on this event”.
“It’s a busy year ahead for the band with again more shows around the globe. It’s a time also for remembrance as early this year we lost long term member and founder Neil Harris. It’s in Neil’s memory and wishes that we carry on doing what SHAM 69 started out to do, is being a live band”
V Thrash and Scientific Sound Saigon have been at the forefront in bringing overseas talent to Ho Chi Minh City over the last few years, and have helped develop the musical scene in the city across many different genres. V Thrash and Scientific Sound Saigon are delighted to be participating in this special night.
The band are one of the most successful punk rock bands in the United Kingdom from the late 1970s, achieving five Top 20 singles, including ‘If the Kids Are United,’ ‘Hersham Boys,’ ‘Questions and Answers’ and ‘Hurry Up Harry.’
The band are contemporaries of bands such as The Clash, Buzzcocks and The Sex Pistols. Coming to Vietnam for the first time, comprising band members Tim v-vocals, Ian Whitewood-drums, Ryan Monshall-lead guitar and John Woodward – bass guitar, this promises to be a truly memorable evening and a first for Vietnam.
