Sofitel Saigon Plaza welcomes Michelin Star Chef Jerome Laurent

Sofitel Saigon Plaza is extremely pleased to welcome the French star Chef Jérôme Laurent from 19 to 23 March 2013 for the pleasure of every gastronomy lover.

With his many souvenirs, collected in each one of his extraordinary travels, Chef Laurent composed his creative cuisine “Voyage au goût du monde” that he comes to share with his French Savoir-Faire in our restaurant.

Building his experience close to the greatest Chefs in the world, he is determined to embody luxury with the diversity of products he has encountered along the way.

Jérôme Laurent was born in Southern France, in Arles, in a family of 6 generations of hoteliers and restaurateurs. He started as a young apprentice in Arles and grew in prestige in various starred restaurants such as „La Côte d‟Or‟ of Bernard Loiseau or Le Louis XV Restaurant of Alain Ducasse in Monaco, both renowned highly acclaimed chefs that have obtained 3 Michelin stars themselves.

Whether in France or in the United States, Chef Laurent found his place amongst the best chefs and organized many events such as the Gala dinner of Yale University in the presence of the King and Queen of Sweden, Mr George Bush father and son, Hilary Clinton …or official French Gala dinners in New-York with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Dominique de Villepin and the UN.

Having garnered his worldly style, Jérôme Laurent started Le Cilantro in 2004, his own restaurant at the heart of his home town, Arles, which was awarded a Michelin star in 2007. He still continues to travel throughout countries and cities around the world such as Moscow, Abu- Dhabi, Jakarta, and more and more dedicates his knowledge and know-how to consulting.

Chef Laurent‟s appetite and love for his art indulges every palate with a discovery of various delights.

Every day, his only wish is to create, to renew and to pursue his passion.

In the heart of Southeast Asia all manner of spices, emotions, tastes and flavors will meet in Sofitel Saigon Plaza’s L’Olivier Restaurant with refined dishes such as “White asparagus Vichyssoise”, “Coco Tarbais beans, scalops in a lemongrass and combava bouillon”, “Red mullet coated with potato scales and a bouillabaisse reduction” ,“Lamb a la Provencal, Thyme roasted braised shoulder of tenderloin, seasonal vegetables and soft potatoes” , “Pigeon in cocoa sauce”, “Peanut-chocolate mille-feuille served with a sweet pepper ice cream” and a host of other enticing dishes that are able to whet the appetites of all.

For this gastronomic week, Jérôme Laurent‟s talent will enchant all your senses with a selection of inspired dishes representing a cuisine of various countries and take you on a discovery of flavors.
