Traffic accidents kill 25 people every day in Vietnam

Twenty-five people died in traffic accidents every day this year in Vietnam, according to Thanh Nien and a recent report from the National Traffic Safety Committee. Between January and October, a total of 7,475 people died in traffic accidents throughout Vietnam. The report also noted that 19,337 others were injured in 20,801 accidents, which is actually a small decrease from last year.

Memorial services to commemorate victims of traffic accidents are being held nationwide in advance of the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims on 16 Nov. In HCMC, 3,000 monks, nuns and relatives attended Vinh Nghiem Pagoda last Sunday. In Hanoi, a ceremony will be held at Cultural Friendship Palace on 16 Nov.
