Vietnam Airlines to sell 15 percent stake

Amid a revamping of over 400 state-run companies, Vietnam Airlines recently announced its plan to sell as much as a 15 percent stake to foreign investors. Potential buyers from Singapore, Thailand and Europe have expressed interest in the country’s national carrier, however no official deals will be made until after Vietnam Airlines’ IPO in September. Government officials have approved the overall sale of a 25 percent stake in an effort to restructure the company’s finances.
