Vietnam McDonald’s reassures customers after US animal abuse video

A horrific video showing the brutal treatment of chickens at a McDonald’s US supplier has pushed a source from the Vietnam branch to confirm it does not use US chicken suppliers.

Animal rights activists released the video late last month, shot at Tyson Foods farm in Tennessee, which shows farmers beating the birds with spikes and stomping on them.

McDonald’s Vietnam said in a statement on Wednesday that it does not source chicken from Tyson or any US farms and imports all chicken from partners in Thailand and Malaysia.

The restaurant does not comment on farming conditions in these two countries, reported Thanhniennews.
